Celebrating 10Years of Hunger Fighters Uganda.

Hunger Fighters Uganda(HFU) is a national Non-government Organisation that was founded in 2008 by alumni of the course on “Hunger in the 21st Centuary” that was facilitated by the United Nations World Food Programme(WFP) and Continuing Agricultural Education Center(CAEC) at the College of Agriculture and Enviromental Sciences Makerere University. The organisation was dully registered with the National Bureau for NGOs on 28th August 2009, with a vision of “A Hunger and Malnutrition free Uganda”. Therefore, Hunger Fighters Uganda was born out of WFP Uganda’s altruistic partnership aimed at Saving Lives and Changing Lives through building capacity of Ugandans in an effort to address hunger the worlds’ most pressing problem to humanity.

For the last ten years, Hunger Fighters Uganda has registered both institutional Capacity and programme growth. This manifests in form of improved governance and management systems, and human resource capacity. In terms of programmes, HFU’s interventions in fighting against hunger and malnutrition are focused on Food and Nutrition Security, Sustainable Agriculture and Livelihoods, Humanitarian Support, Research, Policy Advocacy focused on the right to food and capacity development for the vulnerable people and the marginalized.

The event took place at Grand Imperial Hotel where the guest of honor was World Food Programme Uganda, Representative and the country director who later was joined by guests from the Government of Uganda, Civil Society Organisation(CSOs), private sector.
