The Private Sector Development of Uganda and Skills Development Facility has organised a two(2) days workshop at The Continuing Agricultural Education Center, Kabanyolo involving 35 participants from different districts namely: Kasese, Bunyangabo, Wakiso, Lira, Arua,Buteebo, Mitooma, Gomba and Kisooro. The training has been facilitated by TUNADO and its main aim is to train grassroot bee keepers on how to use low cost solar wax extractors that can easily be attained rather than hydro electricity power which may not be afforded easily, how to clean the beewax for export market especially during the first stage wax and fabricating low cost steam wax extractors.

Mr. Jackson Musesi the CEO of East Africa Wax Company cautioned the bee keepers to be passionate and confident about what they do in order to attain or gain from the honey business. Further he also added that in order for the bee keepers to know more about honey or to get market for their products, they should attend workshops and exhibitions, visit the internet, networking with different people especially when its market related and as well they should be honest during the business.

A simple extraction process was illustrated and clean beewax can be attained. Comb Honey is taken for straining to release liquid honey which leaves sticky wax that melts to cooled honey that leads to washing of the sticky wax to produce honey beer then later it dries up and is ready for beewax stage hence export grade.
