The Continuing Agricultural Education Center has hosted Sasakawa Africa Association’s first pre-season training this year February 2020 at Kabanyolo, Gayaza which was attended by 30 participants from the districts of Otuke, Kole, Kiboga and Mubende respectively. The purpose of the training was majorly to prepare the EAs for the season in both classroom(theory) and field(practical).
During the training the participants were able to learn farming as a business, agronomy of intervention crops, soil and plant nutrition, agri insurannce and e-extention,community seed production,seed certification and seed marketing, climate smart agriculture technologies, safe handling and use of agro-chemicals, adult learning principles;communication and facilitation skills, post-harvest handling(drying storage) and mangament of aflatoxins.
